The energy intelligence layer for Latin America's SMEs.
EconoWatt is a progressive AI-Native platform for energy and operational intelligence, in production, with active customers and a recurring-revenue model that scales with each customer's data.
A massive market operating blind
Millions of SMEs across Latin America have energy among their largest operating costs — and no visibility into it. They receive a monthly bill with a single total, with no idea which equipment, which shift or which practice drives it. Existing monitoring solutions were designed for large industry: expensive, complex and sold by integrators.
Three currents are converging in favor of whoever solves this now:
- Energy-cost pressure across the region, with increasingly sophisticated tariff schemes that reward those who measure and penalize those who don't.
- The AI-Native leap: software no longer just presents data — it understands, predicts and acts on it. The window to build AI-native platforms on proprietary data is open today.
- The sustainability wave that already governs Europe and will reach the region as a market expectation before it becomes regulation.
EconoWatt attacks this opportunity from the bottom up: affordable hardware, installation in hours, an entry price comparable to an internet plan, and a platform that becomes more valuable every month the customer uses it.
It's not a deck. It's a product in production.
EconoWatt operates today as a multi-tenant SaaS in production: real-time IoT ingestion, a high-resolution time-series database, a self-service customer portal, multi-channel smart alerts, monthly AI-interpreted reports and a complete operational backoffice. The AI is not a promise: it generates insights, summaries and reports in production from the very first customer.
In production
a complete platform operating 24/7 with active customers in Ecuador.
AI in production
insights, contextual alerts and interpreted reports, generated automatically.
Multi-segment hardware
single-phase, split-phase and three-phase measurement with advanced power quality (THD, harmonics, imbalance, peak demand).
Local context as data
proprietary local-market variables integrated into the analytics: fewer false alarms, better insights.
One platform, three markets already reached
SME (current commercial core)
Active customers such as Lavanderías Prontto and Valle Andino Café already run on EconoWatt: they uncovered the real underutilization of their equipment (25% of working hours), invisible consumption concentrations (a single piece of equipment at 60% of the total) and operating patterns that now feed their growth, maintenance and training decisions. Both renewed their decision: EconoWatt is their gauge of reality.
Industrial (ready to scale)
The three-phase hardware in production measures industrial-grade power quality — harmonics, THD, phase imbalance, timestamped peak demand — enabling the medium-voltage segment, where demand management under Ecuador's tariff schedule represents savings of thousands of dollars per year per customer.
Residential (validated, awaiting a channel)
A residential pilot demonstrated the same effect in homes: a family identified faulty consumption patterns (its electric water heater leading the way) and now monitors its own optimization goal. The home segment will not be attacked directly: its natural channel is utilities and premium residential developers — see Vision.
Value scales with the data, not the hardware
EconoWatt is not a SaaS with AI bolted on. It's a platform designed to become AI-Native across four progressive layers — and each layer unlocks a higher pricing tier without requiring additional hardware.
- 01
Descriptive
today, in production.AI interprets the customer's data: monthly reports, operational summaries, proactive insights.
- 02
Predictive
next stage.Consumption and bill forecasting before it arrives, anomaly detection by learning each customer's normal pattern, identification of slow equipment degradation.
- 03
Prescriptive.
From predicting to recommending with numbers: tariff-scheme optimization, load scheduling (“move this cycle to 6 a.m., you'll save $X/month”), maintenance recommendations.
- 04
Agentic.
The platform executes bounded actions with the user's approval: a conversational Copilot over the customer's own data, two-way WhatsApp in natural language, approved automations.
The AI-Native progression opens ticket ceilings of 3 to 5 times the current plan, on the same installed base and with no new CAPEX per customer.
The predictive layer requires history: each customer's first months are the data-seeding phase. Far from being a weakness, it's the retention mechanism — every month of history makes the platform more valuable and more irreplaceable for that customer.
The moat is built in three layers
Proprietary data.
High-resolution time series, by equipment and by business sector, that no competitor can buy. At scale, they enable intra-market benchmarking: a real network effect.
Proprietary intelligence.
The AI is trained on the context that matters: the tariff scheme and local parameters specific to each market. Each country's tariff and regulatory knowledge is a concrete barrier for non-local competitors.
End-to-end service.
Hardware on loan, certified installation and platform from a single provider: no integration friction for the customer, no room for intermediaries.
Recurring revenue with healthy unit economics
The model decouples two axes: monitoring points (one-time installation + monthly fee per point) and intelligence plans (Starter, Plus, Enterprise). The customer enters from $24/month and grows by adding points without changing contracts — natural expansion within the same account.
The installation fee covers the deployment of each point from the start, which makes the annual commitment with no exit penalty viable: the risk of early churn doesn't destroy value and the on-loan equipment returns to inventory.
Three lines of revenue growth per customer:
- More points
the customer monitors more equipment and sites.
- More intelligence
each AI-Native layer unlocks a higher plan.
- More verticals
new resources monitored on the same platform (see Vision).
From measuring energy to managing resources
The second product is already defined: Smart Water — smart water metering on the same platform, the same points model and the same AI. Then: temperature, humidity and pressure. EconoWatt becomes the business's resource-monitoring layer, not an electricity gadget.
- Utilities and distributors: EconoWatt as a white-label value-added platform for their commercial and residential customers — the path to mass entry into the home segment as smart metering becomes widespread.
- Premium residential developers: projects that deliver units with integrated smart monitoring as a product differentiator, in the country's main cities.
- SME and industry chambers: an association-driven adoption channel, province by province.
Starting in Ecuador — a dollarized market, a mostly hydroelectric grid, tariff regulation that rewards demand management — as the ideal testing ground. The multi-tenant architecture, the configurable tariff catalog and the bilingual site are designed from day one for regional expansion.
